Dula Kakaik Pattern resembles a crab, an animal found on the coast of West Rote. The top and bottom of the pattern depict the shell of the crab's body and the right and left part depict the crab's claws. Black, red, and white are the distinctive colors of Rote Ndao Batik. The surrounding people believe that Gods came in the form of marine animals and gave them abundant gifts on the coast, namely nature and resources in the Land of Rote.
